Lucente, Tenuta Luce 2018

Deep ruby w slight rim of garnet. Medium/pronounced intensity of fresh black berry, plum and currant,herbs,vanilla, spice.dry, high acid complementing the silky tanin(balanced).medium to long finished. Outstanding wine.

Interesting to know this is the 2nd wine of the prestigious Tenuta Luce ( younger vines 30-40 years). The southeast facing slope + 2018 climate (wet spring+ winter but blessed w a constant warmth summer) + harvesting the merlot 3 wks earlier than sangiovese may have contributed to the more herbaceous merlot compared to Bordeaux merlot
