Interesting wines fr other regions- definitely worth trying
Compared to Loire, S Africa prob due to warmer climate, has more pear, green apple, w tinge of nectarine.Swartland more complex compared to costal regioninteresting wine. Rare Lacrima grapes fr Marche. My first red aromatic wine. Distinct aroma of flower, vanilla fragrance. For asian, do remind me of our local dessert Bandong. Acidic, moderate body .the fresh aromatic on palate last quite a while.
the Blanc fr Alsace surprising complex, w a strong mineral taste that compliment well w Jap food/ sashimi
Mendoza region. Fresh black fruits of berry/ cherry + spicy quite a while to taste a Carmenere. The history behind how this grape varietal ended up n thrived in Chile is just amazing. Fr Tesco, acidic n moderate tannins w fresh red n black fruits of berry n plum.
My first Albarino fr Rias Baixas, a cooler region compared to other regions in Spain.. aroma of pear n citrus w stone fruits( apricot) esp on palate. Will b a easily like-able wine in a gathering
Cannonau ( genetically same as Grenache) fr Silician. Full of black berrys w liquorice spicy + faint vanilla. High acidic , moderate tannins. Pretty different fr Granche found in other countries

2010 Shiraz fr west Aussie,Margaret river. Not a region I associate w Shiraz. Nevertheless age beautifully w black fruits, spicy, earthy, tobacco notes. Still acidic w smooth tanin.but short finish.

A classic South Africa western cape blend - pinotage/ Shiraz. A good balance of red fresh plum, delicate pepper spice, smoky, cigar chocolate ( my guess it's prob fr the oak). Moderate tannins, acidic n body.
